Africa

AID currently works in South Sudan, Kenya and Uganda with projects in: microfinance, healthcare, WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), agriculture, education and theological training for church leaders.

Through AID we support the training of midwives at the Jonglei Institute of Health Science in South Sudan and also share sponsorship of a student training at George Whitfield Theological College in South Africa. After he completes his studies there he will return to South Sudan and become a lecturer at Bishop Gwynne College teaching church leaders

Ethiopia

For many years, Jenny Merritt has worked as a teacher with children who are deaf and establishing a community rehabilitation programme for children with disabilities in Ethiopia for many years.

Now back in Britain and based in the Chichester area, Jenny believes that she has a continuing role in promoting education for the deaf in Ethiopia which is vital work, since without communication skills, deaf people cannot find employment.

Lebanon

Children on the Edge exists to help marginalised children, who are living on the edge of their societies.

These are children without parental care, neglected or persecuted by their governments, ignored by international media and missed by large overseas agencies.

Turkey

Over 20 years ago, St Pancras member Trevor Penrose began, with the help of a team that he drew together, to translate the Bible into modern Turkish. This has been completed and work on study aids, especially a Study Bible, and distribution is now progressing.

Sadly, Trevor died in 2005; but we continue to support the work and his wife, Eila. A major practical way in which we do this is by paying the rent for the project’s office in Istanbul.

Jackie Rowe

Born and brought up in Chichester, has worked for World Evangelisation for Christ (WEC) since 1974.

This service continued when she married Neil who, until his death in 2005, had worked with WEC for over 50 years.

We continue to support Jackie in her connection with WEC and in her pastoral work in Clacton.
